Civic, Religious, and Social Organizations


CHURCHES: Fourteen churches, representing seven denominations, a non-denominational congregation, and a Baha'i group provide for the spiritual needs of area residents. In addition to worship services, these churches sponsor various auxiliary and fellowship groups for adults and youth. An active Ministerial Alliance conducts an annual week-long revival that attracts worshipers from distant points as well as from surrounding communities. The Alliance also sponsors periodic community musical productions.

YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS:  In addition to the church sponsored groups, there are active Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Cub Scout groups, summertime baseball and softball programs, FFA, FHA, 4-H, Beta Club and FBLA are but a few school sponsored youth organizations.

FOR GROWN-UPS:  Adults can find secular fellowship in a variety of organizations, including: The American Legion and Auxiliary, Booster Club, a very active Chamber of Commerce, Extension Homemaker's Club, Masonic Lodge, Garden Club, Hospital Auxiliary, Lion's Club, Order of the Eastern Star, Senior Citizen's Center, TOPS, VFW and Auxiliary.
